Rehabilitación y ampliación de la Plataforma de Levante en la Base Naval de Rota

Project Description

The project consists of expanding the East Platform to provide service to a new hangar by providing parking positions on the flight platform for the aircraft using these facilities. The surface area of the projected aircraft parking platform expansion is 4,470 m2. In order to support the new platform on its eastern lateral margin, due to the existing terrain slope, it has been necessary to design an embankment 5.50 m high.

The project includes the following actions:

• Demolition of buildings, asphalt pavements, and other factory elements.

• Dismantling and removal of existing facilities in the affected area, with relocation or removal of the same.

• Earthworks needed for the expansion of the East Platform.

• Filling of the slope and ground preparation, and subsequent formation of the platform surface with a gravel base and hydraulic concrete slab.

• Water drainage system, incorporating the existing water drainage network.

• Design of facilities for necessary service and installation networks.

Additionally, the project includes the rehabilitation of the current East Platform over its entire surface area of 22,650 square meters, considering the following actions:

• Demolition and reconstruction of the current pavement over an area of 9,400 m2.

• Repair of chipped or damaged edges of the concrete slabs.

• Repair of broken corners of the concrete slabs, by demolishing and reconstructing with HF-4.0 type concrete.

• Sealing of all joints in the current platform.

• Sealing of cracks and fissures in the current pavement.
