Project Description

The purpose of this project is to define and assess the work required to transform the intersection between BP-1432 and BV-1483 into a roundabout, also integrating Font de l'Alzinella street into the roundabout to enhance user safety. This intervention is carried out within the municipal area of Bigues i Riells.

The current intersection between BP-1432 and BV-1483 consists of a Y-shaped intersection with a very small angle of approximately 45º, with buildings on the right side of the curve defined by BV-1483 towards Sant Feliu de Codines, and a cutting embankment, limiting visibility for vehicle traffic. The road section of BP-1432 at this point, between PK 22+360 and 22+390, is 6 m wide without a shoulder. The current road signage includes a stop sign and yield sign, with central lane channeling and a lateral merge. Font de l'Alzinella street, which is currently unpaved and undeveloped, also intersects at the same junction.

Works

  • Construction of a roundabout with an outer diameter of 36 m., with a white line.

  • Formation of a new sidewalk, located to the right of the BV-1483, connecting with the road parallel to the one from Riells and continuing on the west and south part of the roundabout, until connecting with the Tenes River path.

  • Access ramps to the roundabout, with variable width, until connecting with existing roads and Font de l'Alzinella street.

  • Execution of a new pavement package in the roundabout and access ramps.

  • New longitudinal drainage with drivable ditches of 1 meter wide and triangular shape.

 

  • New longitudinal drainage with 1 meter wide and triangular drivable side ditches.
  • Landscaping of the interior of the roundabout with an automatic irrigation system.

  • Lighting of the roundabout and the new designed sidewalk.

  • New horizontal and vertical signaling for code and orientation.

  • Replacement of affected services.
